The Role
Sunflower Communities is seeking a seasoned Regional Administrator (LALD) to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple assisted living and memory care campuses. This is a hands-on regional role designed for a proven leader who can drive consistency, elevate standards, and build strong, accountable leadership teams. You will play a critical role in shaping organizational culture, ensuring regulatory excellence, and supporting growth initiatives, including the successful launch and stabilization of our Sartell community.

Regional Leadership Scope

  • Build, implement, and oversee comprehensive training and education programs to ensure continuous staff development and regulatory readiness.
  • Set the tone for culture and accountability by mentoring Executive Directors and department leaders across all sites.
  • Lead staffing strategy and stabilization efforts, including hiring, onboarding, and leadership development during new building openings.
  • Own regulatory compliance and survey readiness, including internal audits, plans of correction, and ongoing risk mitigation.
  • Ensure consistent, resident-centered care delivery with a strong focus on memory care best practices and dementia-capable programming.
  • Partner with on-site leadership to drive occupancy growth through improved move-in readiness, family communication, and community reputation.
  • Provide financial oversight by managing budgets, labor performance, overtime, agency usage, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Maintain alignment with Minnesota Assisted Living Licensure requirements, BELTSS standards, and MDH expectations across all locations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine site visits and operational reviews, using KPIs and dashboards to guide decision-making.
  • Support and oversee pre-opening milestones and operational readiness for Sartell and future communities.
  • Review incidents, trends, grievances, and satisfaction data to proactively address risk and improve outcomes.
  • Coach leadership teams on assessments, service plans, documentation, and admission workflows to ensure timely, compliant move-ins.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and clinical partners to remove barriers to growth while maintaining quality standards.

What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months

  • Strong MDH survey results with reduced deficiencies and improved compliance consistency.
  • Occupancy growth across all communities with faster lead-to-move-in timelines.
  • Labor performance within budget, reduced reliance on agency staff, and improved retention.
  • Elevated memory care services with consistent programming and staff competency.
  • Engaged leadership teams aligned with Sunflower Communities’ mission and expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Minnesota Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD) in good standing.
  • Demonstrated multi-site leadership experience within assisted living and memory care.
  • Proven success in survey readiness, occupancy growth, financial oversight, and team development.
  • Strong working knowledge of Minnesota assisted living regulations and MDH survey processes.
  • Reliable transportation with the ability to travel regularly between Waconia, Elmore, and Sartell.
  • Willingness to participate in scheduled weekend, on-call, and limited holiday coverage.

Preferred Experience

  • Leadership experience with new-build openings or turnaround environments.
  • Formal dementia training or a strong track record of advancing memory care programming.
