Overview

We’re seeking a highly experienced  Slot Game Designer with a passion for creating engaging, high-performing slot experiences. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep mathematical expertise with a strong understanding of player psychology and data-driven design. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to deliver innovative, emotionally resonant games that captivate players and perform in the market.

As a Slot Game Designer, you will:

  • Lead the design of slot game concepts from ideation to final delivery, focusing on entertainment value, pacing, math outcomes, and player engagement.
  • Apply principles of player psychology to design experiences that resonate emotionally, encourage repeat play, and maximize player satisfaction.
  • Work closely with mathematicians to refine game mechanics and enhance the player experience through balanced and rewarding gameplay.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team including producers, animators, sound designers, and engineers to ensure creative alignment and execution quality.
  • Interpret creative briefs and develop concepts that align with product strategy and market expectations.
  • Use player data and analytics to inform design decisions, optimize game mechanics, and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Mentor junior designers , sharing best practices and guiding the development of game features across multiple projects.
  • Playtest and iterate on in-development games, providing detailed feedback on math, art, sound, messaging, pacing, and UI.
  • Responsible for creating detailed Game Design Documents (GDDs)and pitch materials that clearly communicate game concepts, mechanics, and player experience goals.
  • Support external partners with clear communication of key design features to aid in promotion and market success.
  • Analyze performance data post-launch to inform future game mechanics and optimize player retention.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Game Design, Psychology, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in slot game design, with a proven track record of successful releases.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel for modeling and simulation.
  • Solid foundation in Combinatorics, Probability Theory, and Statistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret player data and translate insights into actionable design improvements.
  • A keen eye for visual appeal and choreography, ensuring games are not only mathematically sound but also visually engaging and well-paced.
  • Proficiency in visual design tools for storyboarding and concept presentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across disciplines.
  • Passion for slot games and a deep understanding of player psychology and casino game dynamics.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, feedback-driven environment.
