Conducts environmental assignments and duties for the Environmental Department under minimal supervision. Directs or leads the work of others from time-to-time.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
A minimum of 8-10 years of related industry and on-the-job experience is required.
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in environmental sciences or a related field is required.
Ability to lead and train a small group of employees in a Technical Expert capacity. Special training in hazardous waste regulations and DOT Hazmat Shipping. Advanced ability to provide analyses of proposed and final waste RCRA and MTCA regulations that significantly impact operations and/or compliance status. Advanced workingknowledge of environmental waste and remediation regulations required depending on assignment. Ability to perform dangerous waste calculations preferably with a practical understanding of refinery processing programs. Understanding of oil refining processes (process flow diagrams/mechanical flow sheets). Ability to effectively communicate with others both written and verbal communication. Advanced reading and writing skills with the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with strategies and technologies used for the remediation of contaminated sites. Experience with managing contractors conducting investigations and corrective actions such as drilling excavation and remedy construction. Strong time management and organizational skills general knowledge and understanding of RCRA and MTCA regulations with a particular emphasis in site closure requirements preferred.
Responsible for the management of teams of contractors during turnarounds or other waste or remediation-related activities
Office and plant based with travel required up to 25% of the time by land or air. Petroleum refinery warehouse/plant environment including but not limited to chemicals pressure vessels tanks and rotating equipment. Required to work in all temperatures including outdoors. Subject to varying road and weather conditions.

Salary Range: The salary range includes the minimum midpoint and maximum base salary values. A candidates offer can vary depending on differentiating factors including but not limited to education training or experience.
This position has a salary minimum of$92300.00 and maximum of $160500.00.
