The Director of Development is responsible for the philanthropic initiatives of Eaton Senior Communities Foundation, including donor relations, grant administration and fundraising to assist Eaton Senior Communities, Inc. (ESC) in meeting its mission of providing housing and services for low-to-middle income older adults. This position oversees the Eaton Senior Communities Foundation, including donor relations, grant administration, data reporting, external marketing, and other projects as deemed necessary.

Pay: $70,000.00 per year

Major Duties:

  • Direct and execute all operations of the ESC Foundation in a timely manner.
  • Manage the grant process with a third-party contractor- identify needs, find potential grantors, edit grant proposals, ensure funding is used properly, prepare/approve/track grant reports and communicate with funders in a timely fashion.
  • Lead and execute the annual fundraising campaign including maintaining an up-to-date database, preparing/providing timely information to donors, cultivating donor relationships to maximize campaign contributions, etc.
  • Solicit and manage in-kind donations for all fundraising events / activities of the Foundation.
  • Create and foster a donor relations strategy that maximizes existing donor relationships and solicits new donor support for the organization(s).
  • Cultivate new donor relationships through education and increased visibility of ESC and ESC Foundation to residents, families, communities, corporations, and service organizations.
  • Plan and direct the organization’s fundraising events.
  • Distribute reports utilizing a variety of mediums, including print, email and other digital reporting tools (including the annual report).
  • Plan and coordinate special marketing events with external stakeholders.
  • Market the organization within the external community.

Educational Requirements/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, philanthropic studies, business, or another related field.
  • Three years’ experience in fundraising and/or development.
  • Experience with non-profit organizations.
