Job Summary

A growing, full-service law firm in a regional market is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with experience in creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation. This role focuses on (1) representing creditors in bankruptcy and loan enforcement matters, (2) drafting and negotiating legal documents related to financial transactions and recoveries, and (3) supporting clients through complex collections and litigation processes. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality legal services while contributing to a collaborative and client-focused practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent secured and unsecured creditors in Chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13 bankruptcy proceedings

• Initiate and manage state court loan enforcement actions, including foreclosures and related litigation

• Enforce judgments through garnishments, discovery, and other post-judgment remedies

• Coordinate Article 9 sales and collateral liquidation processes

• Draft loan amendments, forbearance agreements, and related financial/legal documentation

• Support real estate and corporate practice groups on collection and enforcement matters

• Provide ongoing legal support and counsel to financial institution clients

• Defend lenders and financial institutions in connection with lender liability claims

• Manage multiple cases simultaneously while ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school (required)

• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar or eligibility for admission (required)

• 2–8 years of experience in creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, commercial litigation, or related practice areas

• Experience handling loan enforcement, collections, or bankruptcy matters preferred

• Ability to manage confidential client and financial information

• Capability to handle multiple active matters with minimal supervision

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of bankruptcy law, creditors’ rights, and commercial litigation processes

• Proficiency in legal drafting, including pleadings, motions, and financial agreements

• Understanding of loan enforcement procedures, including foreclosures and collections

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities

• High attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities effectively

• Proficiency with legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite

• Experience working with financial institutions or bank clients

• Familiarity with lender liability defense and commercial collections

• Exposure to real estate or corporate law matters

• Experience in a law firm or client-facing legal environment

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment within a regional location. The role involves collaboration with legal teams and clients, with standard business hours and potential flexibility. Limited travel may be required depending on client or court needs.
