We’re seeking an experienced and design-driven Architectural Designer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who combines the strong aesthetic sensibilities with technical rigor — capable of crafting modern, well-detailed residential designs that are both buildable and inspiring. Unlike a traditional architecture role, this is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment. You’ll work closely with clients, sales, and construction teams to translate vision into reality through thoughtful design and clear communication.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the conceptual and schematic design of single-family and accessory dwelling unit (ADU) projects.
• Develop creative, functional, and constructible designs that balance client aspirations with cost and site constraints.
• Present and communicate design intent effectively — both visually and verbally — in client meetings and design reviews.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, planning, and construction to ensure design continuity and feasibility.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining quality and responsiveness throughout the design process.
• Integrate local building codes, zoning, and entitlement requirements into design development.
• Champion design storytelling — connecting spatial and material decisions to lifestyle, sustainability, and emotional impact.
• Contribute to innovation in the design process, exploring AI-assisted workflows, parametric modeling, and computational tools.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
• 5+ years of professional experience with a strong portfolio of modern single family homes and ADUs, specifically for new homes or new construction.
• Proven ability to create aesthetic, functional, and buildable architectural solutions.
• Strong conceptual design and visualization skills; ability to translate client goals into compelling narratives.
• Confident and empathetic in client-facing roles, guiding homeowners and developers through design decisions.
• Solid understanding of local codes, permitting, and entitlement processes, especially for single-family homes and ADUs.
• Team-oriented mindset and collaborative approach, especially within design–build environments.
• Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and other digital design tools.
• Highly organized and responsive, with the ability to manage multiple design projects in parallel.
• Passion for innovation and emerging design technologies (AI, parametric, or computational design experience a plus).
• Previous experience in a custom residential or design–build firm is strongly preferred.
